I think that a nurse plays a big role in ethics regarding both evidence implementation and generation. Nurses have a code of ethics that they must follow, hospital wide and statewide for the state they work for. The ethics is centered around quality care for the patients and the most up to date care which is where the evidence implementation comes in. Nurses are taught to practice in the most recent, most effective care for the patient that will lead to the best outcome. Nurses are reviewing research in their everyday practice. Finding out what works well and what doesn’t’ but also basing it off the outcomes for the patient. Nurses play an overall big role in all aspects of ethics including research, evidence, etc.
